Dr. Krysta Dennis
Theatre-maker, Educator, Researcher
Krysta Dennis is a theatre-maker, educator, performer, and researcher. She is Producer of Creative Arts at Siena College in Albany, New York. She holds a dual PhD from the University of Kent in Canterbury, and the Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris III. Krysta trained as a performer at L’Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris.
Her creative work is largely driven by curiosity about the human experience of sense and memory, and has been centered around a framework of practice-as-research. Krysta enjoys employing theatre technology including video mapping, virtual reality, and augmented reality in her work. She aims to explore the power, particularities, and shortcomings of memory, to create contemporary work that is in dialogue with the past, and to explore the aesthetic possibilities of the cognitive and non-cognitive senses in the process.
